We are committed to handling personal information responsibly and in accordance with applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India).
Scope of this policy
This policy applies to personal information collected through this website, our contact form and related communications. It does not apply to third-party websites or to information collected offline, unless we say otherwise.

Information we collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Information you provide. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), organisation or startup name (optional), the nature of your interest, subject, message and your consent to be contacted.
- Technical information. Our hosting and security infrastructure may automatically record your IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages and timestamps. We use IP addresses to apply rate limits and protect the contact form from abuse.
- Cookies and local storage. We use browser local storage to remember your light or dark theme preference, stored under the key "shine-theme". This is a functional preference, not an advertising or analytics cookie. We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.
You can clear local storage through your browser settings at any time. Clearing it will reset your theme preference.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and route them to the right team
- assess and administer applications, partnerships and programme requests
- operate, maintain and secure the website
- prevent spam, abuse and unauthorised access
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
- communicate with you about your request, where you have consented
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
Consent and lawful basis
Where we rely on consent, we ask for it clearly, for example through the consent checkbox on our contact form. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal, and may mean we cannot respond to your request. We may also process information where necessary for legal compliance, to respond to a request you initiate, or for other purposes permitted by applicable law.
Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to respond to your enquiry, maintain records of programmes and partnerships, resolve disputes and meet legal requirements.
Contact form submissions are retained as email correspondence for as long as needed for these purposes. Technical logs are retained for a limited period. Theme preferences remain in your browser until you clear your local storage.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. These include access controls, secure transmission and limiting access to those who need it.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
